Statutory resolution for 125MW citizen solar park Bundorf

The municipal council of Bundorf in the district of Hassberge in Lower Franconia voted unanimously on April 16th 2022 in favor of a 125 MWp solar park of the Bavarian solar company MaxSolar GmbH.

The 125 MWp solar power plant with an investment volume of over 85 million euros is located north of the Bundorf community and construction is scheduled to begin this year. Once connected to the grid, the solar park will be able to produce electricity for more than 37.500 households. The green electricity generated will be fed into the Bayernwerke power grid via a transformer station, which is being built by MaxSolar. MaxSolar project manager Thomas Schachner was present at the Bundorf municipal council meeting: "We would already like to thank the municipal council and Mayor Endres for the very good cooperation and communication. A solar park of this size is an important milestone for the energy turnaround and thus an energy supply independent of fossil energy." The entire approval process took just under a year and was thus successfully completed very quickly and effectively. The community was particularly convinced by the holistic approach of MaxSolar and the citizen energy cooperative EGIS eG, which will build a local district heating network and e-charging stations in addition to the solar park.

Hubert Endres, mayor of Bundorf, was very pleased: "We hope that after the successful approval process, the construction will go just as well. I am particularly pleased with the holistic approach, from which the citizens in particular will benefit." With the positive resolution on the statutes, the final spurt now begins in preparation for project implementation. The project is currently the largest citizen solar project in Germany.
