A holistic (residential) energy concept
2. project completed

The entire energy demand of an apartment building in Traunstein, Bavaria, is covered by self-generated solar power. Because the energy-efficient passive house meets the highest insulation standard, the residents save 50 percent of their operating costs. Thanks to the tenant electricity concept, they can also reduce their electricity costs by around two thirds.
The W12 project for the real estate developer GreenRock Management in Traunstein, Bavaria, sets standards in terms of building technology and efficiency. A special substructure was also used for the rooftop PV system. The EnergyGreenRoof from contec. The 96 high-performance modules have a total output of 32.16 kWp. With a holistic energy concept from MaxSolar, property owners and tenants can cover their needs with environmentally friendly solar power while significantly reducing their electricity and ancillary costs. If desired, each tenant can have their underground parking space equipped with a wallbox for charging electric cars. The building is a KfW40+ efficient house, which means that its annual primary energy demand is 60 percent lower than the minimum standard. To be eligible for funding from the Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau, the building must also generate electricity based on renewable energies and have a stationary battery storage system, a ventilation system with heat recovery and a visualisation of electricity generation and consumption.
